Unusual Art Appeared! Yes! Genuine Art is on the street (Hokoten square in down town).
~ AOZORA ART~ 1 Year of Experience at Harajyuku Hokoten
Harajyuku, Tokyo, is famous for Hokoten (pedestrian street). Many music bands still get together at there. But, there is an unusual group of artists on the street, surrounded by the amplified music.
They are "AOZORA ART", who invite pedestrians, "Let's get sketch!"
This unique street art is led by professional artist Ms. Rica Takashima, Ms. Ai Bito, and various professional artists who join the tem. You can draw art using free art supplies at there.
You can also pose as a model if you are not good at drawing. The "Hokoten Sketch Rally" is Rica Takashima's passion for making the art open and friendly to the public. She wants to eliminate the stereotype "art is costly."
To accomplish this project, she is aware that art can be costly, and is looking for more sponsors. There were some anxieties at the beginning - would people have an interest for this, would they participated? However, once it started, many couples, families, and foreign tourists participated in and enjoyed this artistic event. Such a wide range of people are gathering at"Aozora Art." There must be something in this free art.
